We proceed to get our bus tickets from Taoyuan International Airport T2 basement and took West bus 1961 to Taipei Main Station.
Bus Fare : NTD 90 (SGD $3.75)
Travelling time : 45mins to 1 hour.

#TIP 1 : CHANGING TAIWAN DOLLAR.
Now, remember in Day 1 Part 1 of my blog, I mentioned i'll share with you the best place to change your money in Taiwan?
One of the best place to change your moolah is right inside Taoyuan International Airport, right after you got your passport scanned and approved, you will see a money changer (there is only 1 money changer at the arrival hall (Terminal 2).
DO NOT change at the arrival hall! as their rates ain't that good.^^
The one that we saw right after the custom was
SGD 1 = NTD 24.35
at the point of time, please note currency rates is ever-changing. so kindly use this as a reference only.
Their rates is definitely better than the one in Singapore! that's because in most countries, foreign currency exchange is always more welcome^^ |
#TIP 2 : WIFI
We rented our wifi from Singapore Changi Airport and our Videographer Oi! Niicky managed to get the promo code and book it for only $15 for 5 days 4 nights.
However, I would recommend you to rent the wifi at Taoyuan International Airport instead^^, their rates are way cheaper than in Singapore and some company like WifiHero even give you 1day of free wifi for every 4 days that you rent, and can connect up to 16 people.
Their rates are on average NTD 100 / day!
at the point of time, please note that their rates is ever-changing. so kindly use this as a reference only.
#TIP 3 : 4U TAIPEI HOSTEL
This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in Taiwan!
In my previous trip to Taipei, a couple of years back, I have had stayed in both hotel and apartment before, one is plain old and dingy looking while the other one is totally haunted 0_0, But that is story for another time.
ANYWAYS!
We arrived at the hostel on the 24th of June at around 8am, feeling really tired and knowing that most of the hostel protocol of checking in timing is 3pm onwards, we were pleasantly surprise when the host offered us an early check in at about 11am .
Jeggaing away while waiting for our room, if you are wondering why are we having sandwiches and burritos to eat in the morning, that's because most of the old school eatery in Taipei operate from 11am onwards and the area which we stayed in, is more of like a CBD area, and most local Taiwanese prefer to have their breakfast, the grab and go method hehe but their family mart sandwiches are so delicious as well!!! OMG, they can easily beat any of the cafΓ© here in SG.
